In a new four-part docuseries simply named “Ice Cold,” Migos gathered together Slick Rick, City Girls, J Balvin, and others to examine hip-fascination hop’s with jewels.
Chains, rings, and iced-out grillz are among of hip-hop fashion’s mainstays, with some rappers even making collecting jewelry a full-fledged sport. Migos, an Atlanta-bred rap group, have gathered a few hip-hop homies to discuss all things bling in a new four-part docuseries titled Ice Cold: The Untold Story of Jewelry.
Lil Baby, J Balvin, Lil Yachty, A Boogie Wit Da Hoody, City Girls, A$AP Ferg, and French Montana are among the celebrities that make cameo appearances throughout the miniseries, as well as commentary from rap veterans Talib Kweli and Slick Rick. Celebrity jewelers Ben Baller, Eliantte, Johnny Dang, and Icebox all feature in the documentary, and they’re all represented by celebrity jewelers Ben Baller, Eliantte, Johnny Dang, and Icebox.
Coach K, the film’s executive producer, made sure the project wasn’t rushed, saying in a press statement, “This film has been a passion project that has been four years in the making to tell a larger story about our music and fashion culture as well as being Black and navigating what we all grow up hearing is ‘the American dream.'” “Our QC family is incredibly happy to bring this video to life with our partners and the deeper twist on bling that Karam Gill gives it,” he said, “and the deeper spin on bling that Karam Gill offers it.”
We can’t be upset when a group of people from different cultures get together to celebrate something new. Ice Cold: The Untold Story of Jewelry is executive produced by Migos, Coach K, and Pierre “P” Thomas, and co-produced by Quality Films, Universal Music Group’s Mercury Studios and Polygram Entertainment, Mass Appeal, and MGX Creative.
